Cannes
World capital of cinema
Located at the heart of the town centre, our apartment to rent on La Croisette in Cannes is perfect for discovering the star of the Côte d’Azur.
The world capital of cinema, Cannes has gone from being a modest fishing village to the coastal holiday town and cultural hotspot we know today. Its elegance and glamour are unrivalled. To experience this unique place, our apartment by the sea provides a top location for exploring the town on foot.
You really can feel the unique, heavenly atmosphere of Cannes as you wander La Croisette. This boulevard facing the bay of Cannes and its beaches is world-renowned and was famous even before the creation of the Cannes Film Festival. Indeed, its fame dates back to the 19th century when the Côte d’Azur became the top destination for the English and Russian aristocracies.
Cannes and La Croisette soon became home to splendid palaces and opulent villas. Revel in the beauty of three kilometres of floral gardens and lawns planted with palm trees, stone pines and different trees all the way up to the Port Canto. Under the shade of the palm trees, the steps will lead you to the different public and private beaches. After visiting the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès lay down your beach towel on the fine sand and enjoy the atmosphere of la dolce vita in Cannes.
If you want to fully experience the history of Cannes, head to the district of Le Suquet, the picturesque old part of the town. Right below, the Vieux Port (Old Port) plays host to several major international events on the Esplanade Pantiero, including the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Royal Regattas. A bit further afield, you can set sail to the Lérins islands of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat. First, breathe in the fragrances of the state-owned forest with its Aleppo pines and eucalyptus trees, and discover the Fort Royal, a prison reinforced by the military architect the Marquis de Vauban and the place where the legendary Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. Then, discover the monuments of the Abbaye de Lérins, a testimony of a long, illustrious history.
